Jesus 24/7: A Short Course in Faith for the Questing Christian
By David Bruce
Jesus 24/7 is a short course in the basics of the Christian faith—written primarily for people in The United Church of Canada. Each of the 12 sessions is prefaced by a line from the United Church's "A New Creed" as David Bruce uses the creed as a springboard for the topics under discussion.
Bruce intended Jesus 24/7 for every church-goer—the newcomer, the unchurched, and the long-time church member—and has used a light, sometimes humorous, style even when the subject matter is theologically dense. He has achieved the near impossible by making learnings about the Christian faith and topics of theological debate accessible to all.
Our people ask for instruction and formation in the basics of the Christian life and faith. David Bruce gives us a unique resource that will be gratefully received in the church. Here is Christianity at its heart, presented in a lively, practical way.
Will Willimon, Bishop, The North Alabama Conference of The United Methodist Church, Birmingham, AL, USA.
The time has come for The United Church of Canada to engage the person and work of Jesus Christ as believers, rather than skeptics. Faith seeking understanding is very different from unfaith seeking analysis. The latter leads to endless discussion groups, but the former leads to limitless mission and outreach. David Bruce has provided a practical and profound resource for United Church members and clergy to reconnect with the incarnation through our own “A New Creed.” This book helps the local congregation participate in a consensus of faithful experience of Christ, while at the same time leaving open the exploration of the mystery of Christ. Be united, be unique, but above all, be focused on the real presence of God that is Jesus 24/7.

I found this book to be very informative for me as a long-time member of The United Church of Canada. It is easy to read and explores many of the Christian terms and themes that enlighten and confirm my beliefs as a Christian. It is an excellent resource for study and discussion groups. I highly recommend it for questing Christians.
